Items which are from the category (I) are those copied by others and are generically referred to as “Airport Art”. Segy classified collectible artifacts as follows:
Mossi Vertical Mask Type III artifact Description: The mask is unique and is clearly a tribally danced, or used artifact. This Mossi vertical mask is from the western portion of the Mossi kingdom and has not been documented as much as the vertical plank masks from the eastern Upper Volta region. Segy documented this style of mask in his text; African Sculpure Speaks. The mask has a circular extension rising vertically from the face mask and ending in a V-shaped crest which has the abstract connotation of a bird figure. Overall, it has great presence, is a rare style of vertical Sub-saharan art, Measurements: 48" tall, 15" wide at the crest, and 10" deep.
