ANTIQUE Victorian CABINET Rococo ORMOLU Boule ORNATE

We have here another wonderful find in this very Handsome French Victorian Ebonized Mahogany Cabinet.

It stands about 43 inches tall, has a width of about 32 inches and a depth of about 17 inches measured to the widest portion of its top surface at outward-extended front curves.

This Exquisite example of fine Victorian Cabinetry dates back in time to the period of the late 1800's and has been crafted of a wonderful selection of Ebonized Mahogany. It's graceful lines form a beautiful backdrop for the period ornamentation it has been so thoughtfully given. We are quite impressed with all of its figural ormolu, its acanthus and grape leaf ornamentation and the finely detailed Boule or Open metal work surrounding its Red Lacquer marbleized under-surfaces.

Its upper surface rises for easy access to the interior top shelf. We see that the side Brackets which hold the top in its 'Up' Position have been replaced at some point in time and are not original to the piece. This is only an opinion. The back hinges, from which the top surface rises are definitely original to this wonderful Cabinet.

In addition to all of these elegant refinements, we see that its front door opens to reveal two shelves, lined with a soft red velvet, thus giving 3 levels for storage. The same area's top shelf is also easily accessed by raising its top surface.

What an absolutely Exquisite piece this is with its profusion of gracefully flowing lines!

There are several condition issues, but in general, it is in fairly good Antique condition. There definitely are the always anticipated areas of surface wear and age-related patina. Please see the photograph which we have provided for your inspections which shows the lower metal side adornment being held in place by a piece of scotch tape. No doubt the new owner will be able to effect a more satisfactory manner to keep this applied trim in place against the body of the cabinet.

In addition, there are several areas of the applied Golden swirl front adornments which have worn off and have only been colored in a bit perhaps by a previous owner. Please also note the upper portion of the left side panel which is missing a section of its golden trim. We have photographed this cabinet both in an outdoor as well as an indoor setting in order to more accurately portray its condition issues for you as well as its majestic beauty.

All that being said, this is still quite an amazing conversation piece. Just give it a gentle cleaning, perhaps a few touch-ups, if desired, and a bit of appropriate polish and it will be ready to go right to work for you bringing you very much pleasure and a wealth of compliments.

This is a Fantastic Investment in a Quality and exceptionally stylish classic Antique French Victorian Cabinet which is sure to continue increasing in value as more and more time goes by.
