From the Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring, we present Aragorn as Strider the Ranger figure.
Intricately detailed by Sideshow's founder & master artist Matt Falls. This meticulously sculpted likeness of Viggo Mortensen, faithfully captures the strength & leadership of the noble Ranger as he appeared in "The Fellowship of the Ring".
A descendant of the lost line of the ancient Kings of Men, Aragorn is fated to one day claim the empty throne of Gondor. Only a few knew his secret heritage and identity. Among them, the wizard Gandalf the Grey, the Elf Lord Elrond & some of the Rangers who follow him. At Gandalf's request, Aragorn and his fellow Rangers take up the defense of the Shire, a small land full of very small people known as Hobbits. He became known as Strider among the peoples outside of the Shire's borders.
In the common room of the Prancing Pony, an Inn in the town of Bree, just outside the Shire. Aragorn introduces himself and befriends Frodo and his three traveling companions. He advises them that they need to be more afraid of whats following them, the dark cloaked riders known as Ringwraiths. That night, Strider tricks the Ringwraiths and escapes with the band of Hobbits. He knows to well that they will be in hot pursuit of the "One Ring" and its a matter of time before he comes face to face with the dreaded Nazgul. Unfortunately it happens sooner than later at the ruins of Weathertop, an ancient watchtower of Amol Sul. The careless Hobbits light a fire for warmth, but only attract the Ringwraiths to their hiding location. Being surrounded, Frodo attempts to hide by placing the magic ring on his finger, becoming invisible. The power of the Ring only draws them closer and exposes their gloomy visage to Frodo. The Witch King, leader of the nine, swift blade finds its mark in Frodo's chest. Strider uses fire to temporarily fend off the Nazgul and escape once again from their clutches. He knowns that Frodo's health is fleeting, so with the aid of his beloved Arwen and her speedy Stallion, outrace the Ringwraths to Rivendell for asylum.
The Aragorn as Strider action figure is film accurate and ready to jump into action in any dynamic position you should desire. Sideshow's 12" figure is a fully articulated body with 30+ points of articulation, capable of nearly any possible pose that a Ranger's body can achieve. The rough & ready Ranger is outfitted in his signature apparel, including real fabric shirt, sleeveless jerkin, trousers, full length duster, detailed belt with pouches, boots, utility knife, Sword, scabbards, bow, quiver, arrows, Evenstar pendant, bed roll, gloved right hand, sword grip left hand, gesturing left hand for multiple display options. A 12" figure display base with the LOTR logo is also included. Of course he is hand painted to the highest standards which Sideshow is known for.
