The pencil art was published in The Jack Kirby Collector. Image uses ink, brush & pen, and was recreated from a Xerox of the pencil art,which was lightboxed in pencil onto Bristol board then inked by artist Angel Gabriele. This art is not a "quick sketch", but an amazing original recreated drawing, the digital image does NOT do this original justice. Illustration is suitable for framing! ( photo is shot at slight up angle to avoid glare on ink.) At the request of longtime Kirby family friend David Schwartz, and to avoid questionable sales by less than reputable dealers, all Angel's Jack Kirby recreation work states in archival ink, on the back, that they are a recreation by Angel, and are signed on the front after Kirby's name.
These originals are done as inking sample and from Angel's portfolio.

In Angel's 30 Years in the Biz he's worked For Marvel, DC, Independents, learned from the late Kelly Freas, worked with Rich Buckler, Mark Texiera, Denys Cowan ( When you find Gabe or Angel hidden in a Cowan story between 1988-1995, It's one he worked on). In the early 90's, his Indiana based studio co-designed the Milestone universe and did the bible art for others to follow. He started in 1971 learning basics from Kelly Freas in his Virgina Beach Studio, he went to work for Rich Buckler in NYC in 1974, helping with his "Kirby " stuff, and other work, some credited, some ghosted. His 1st credited work for DC was Kobra #4 in 1976, his last credited work for DC was Hardware #36 , so he's spanned over 30 years!. He inked the "Frank" comics over Denys Cowan for Nemisis, inked Static #17, Long Hot Summer #3, Drew the covers to DC's Impact line, The Web 6, 7, 8,. Also did Some comics for bankrupt Boneyard, and you can see some of the covers, and more examples at the website..All our items are sold "As Is" so please ask prior to bidding, in case there's something we don't know , as we are not experts on all items.
