  • This is a superb, hand coloured line etching by Devon printmaker Susan Tatham, circa 1990's . It is signed in pencil in the bottom right , titled " Old spots " in the bottom left with "A/P" ( Artists Proof) in the middle. One of about 150 or so prints from the original plate, this is one of the first impressions taken by the artist. It depicts old spot pigs at feeding time with the farmer.  
  •  The impressed plate size measures 7 3/4" by 5 3/4" (20 cm by 14.5 cm ) and is mounted in a hand cut pale ivory coloured mount with backing board, ready for framing, outer size 14" by 12" (36cm by 30cm ).
  • The sheet of paper that the etching is printed on is full and complete, just a bit smaller than the outer size of the mount, it isn't glued down , just hinged at the top, so it can be removed intact if necessary. In excellent as new condition, immaculate, a top quality etching.

  •  "Susan Tatham completed her training at High Wycombe School of Art, prior to working in London as a fashion artist. She has lived in devon for the last 15 years.  The vivid imagery of the Devon landscape with its unique field systems and abundance of small farming communities , which enhance the natural beauty of the countryside, provides great scope for interpretation in to the printmaking medium.  The animals which inhabit this landscape feature prominently in the hand coloured limited edition prints, which are all produced from her studio at home. Her prints have sold in many galleries throughout the United Kingdom, Europe and America. "
