Synopsis

A modern-day journalist named Sarah Monteiro receives information suggesting that Pope John Paul I, who mysteriously died in his sleep in 1978 after reigning for barely a month, was murdered in order to keep him from exposing the financial fraud which was rampant within the Vatican. Further evidence indicates that the same murderous group was responsible for the 1981 assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II. When the clandestine sect discovers that Monteiro is on to them, she is soon too busy fighting to stay alive to expose the truth. Based on real events, the book includes a compelling interview with Rocha which outlines his firm belief in the validity of his fictional conspiracy.
