Highway 61 1:18 1969 Met. Green Plymouth Barracuda 440

Beautiful brand new, in box 1:18 (over 10-1/2" long) scale  Die Cast "Highway 61" absolutely gorgeous replica of Plymouth's 1969 Barracuda 440 fastback coupe.  This is a very high quality, hand crafted die cast model far superior to the Danbury and Franklin mint die casts. It is a true replica of the original automobile finished in Plymouth  Limelight green metallic with flat-black Hood and rocker stripes, and twin hood scoops. The hood opens to reveal a marvelously detailed 440 V-8  engine complete with hoses, wires, brake booster etc.  The race style fuel filler cap is chrome plated and inset. The interior simulates the Matching green leather interior of the original with seatbelts,  fold down seats, detail gages and dash panel and wood rimmed factory steering wheel,  wood grained door panels and even chrome scuff plates and soft matching carpeting. The underside is beautifully well detailed as well. Steerable front wheels. Factory steel wheels with chrome hub caps are fitted with red line rubber tires. Brand new, in box and has never been displayed! The packaging is really well engineered to protect the model. It even comes with a polishing/care kit.

The second generation Barracuda (1967 -1969) was a fully redesigned machine and the line was expanded to offer the notchback and convertible models in addition to the fastback. The successful 340ci four-barrel V-8 was carried over from 1968 along with the 383ci four-barrel V-8 which delivered upwards of 330hp. But the big news was when in the spring of 1969 Plymouth installed the monstrous 440ci V-8 in a street-legal 375hp package capable of  rocketing the light weight 'Cuda to 5.5 second 0-60 times and 14.10 second quarter mile! This model features the 440ci engine.
