Up for auction is an 1860’s +/- rocking chair that looks like a converted folding military camp chair, although it does not fold up. If the rockers were not on the chair it would fold-up. The ends of the legs do not look worn so the rockers may have been an original part of the construction or a different, fancy, ornate alternative of the folding chair. The chair has many great details from the porcelain tacks to the incised carving of a shield on the top spreader. The fabrics and yarns appear to be original with wear. There are brackets, finials, padded arm rests and it rocks. It is 36” high, 21“wide and 25” from front to back. The weight without packaging is 10 lb. There is no maker’s mark on the parts and it does not fold-up. The boxed chair will be an over-sized package weighing approx. 15 lbs. Please wait for us to calculate postage to your location before paying. If you have a question about shipping cost please contact us with your zip code and desired shipping method for an estimate. Thanks for looking! Shipping note: We have removed the rockers and packaged the chair in a box that measures: 36" x 24" x 23" in an attempt to lower the cost to ship. If you go to the Fed Ex online calculator and plug in these dimensions with your zip code you can determine the cost to ship to your area. The cost will not be governed by the weight, it will be the dimensions = Dimensional Weight. I checked UPS ground also, but Fed Ex appears to have the lowest cost to ship. If you know of a less costly way to ship or can do a local pick-up please let us know. |
