This 12 inch long (2x12”=24 inch in circumference) new real fragrant white SANDALWOOD necklace (mala/rosary) contains 5.5mm wide (diameter), 109 beads. The complete description of this necklace is as in the following table:

This necklace is made of the most expensive sandalwood (white sandalwood). Sandalwood is used in making sandalwood essential oil (contains 90% santalol which is renowned for its antimicrobial property), perfume, necklace, bracelet, incense and soap. Due to its everlasting sweet smell it has also been used in aromatherapy for thousands of years. White sandalwood (genus santalum) belongs to the most fragrant wood of sandalwood family. Temples built with this sandalwood are found giving off fragrance even after centuries.  

BEWARE OF FAKE SANDALWOOD:

Sandalwood is a very expensive wood. Its wood has very compact, small and round grains that are tightly bound. It contains a larger amount of greasy substance which has a very pleasing fragrance. This fragrance is very distinct when it is cut but the amount of fragrance on the surface gradually decreases because of evaporation. Rub it against a stone (with a drop of water over it) and smell the scratched/powdered surface to test if it is a real sandalwood item. If there is no smell on the scratched part it is not fragrant white sandalwood. Compare and test the compactness and greasiness of the surface of sandalwood with other woods.
