ORIGINAL 1954 HANDBILL POSTER 

 

TITLE:  RENE MAGRITTE Words vs Image, Sidney Janis Gallery, New York, ORIGINAL 1954 POSTER HANDBILL.

DETAILS: Original 1954 Rene Magritte art poster handbill for his Word vs Image exhibit at Sidney Janis Gallery, New York. Comes with special Magritte envelope. The handbill has a unique elongated accordian design. Measures 42" x 5".  On black paper with white print. Double sided. Whimsical art and text by Magritte. The art is in French and the text has been translated by Magritte's life long friend Edouard Léon Théodore Mesens. The envelope is postmarked February 24, 1954. Scarce. Only copy of this work known to still exist.

CONDITION: Handbill is in high grade condition. Smooth clean surfaces areas. No writing, tears, rips or stains of any sort.  Envelope has minor wear.
