This original woodblock print is pencil signed and dated as follows: S.C. E.M. Washington, 1932. If the initials SC preface the name, it means that the actual image was designed by someone else, and that the plate was engraved by the named engraver. The date corresponds to when the image was originally produced by the original artist. As is the case in most prints from woodblocks, there were 75 or less prints of this image made! The actual number is not known. The design and artistry of the print is spectacular! The artist is extremely good at interpreting the social event and artistry of the period! The print is clean and bright, and the print itself shows no wear, some very slight warping on right and left edges. The subject matter of the print depicts Young man in future. Overall paper size measures 9" X 12" , and the actual print image measures 3.5" by 5". Great Print! Will Frame Up Nicely! As to who E.M. Washington was (or is), please Google "E.M. WASHINGTON" to find out more about this controversial artist as well as other references to these wonderful prints!
