Pneumatic tubes to deliver telegrams, mail and stock transactions were a marvel in Europe in the mid and later 1800s. Vienna built its 825 km pneumatic mail system in 1875 and continued it until 1956.This lot offers a used envelope (#3) which was issued to carry a message.
