  • LP's New One Shot Studio Crisp Shaker Tones Off the Floor. If you've ever had the pleasant experience of playing any of LP's One Shot Shaker series, you'll realize why accolades were quick in coming for the line. For example, in 2004 at the Frankfurt Musikmesse, the patented LP One Shot Shaker took top honors in the annual music press awards (MIPA). Part of the reason is the ultimate simplicity of these units. Played as directed, they eliminate the often troublesome backward/downstrokes inherent in traditional maraca technique. Such strokes, unless played with care by seasoned veterans, such as co-designer Daniel de los Reyes, can result in little flutters and unwanted ghost notes. The One Shot shaker eliminates backstrokes ingeniously by silencing the rear chamber. Percussionists now execute forward strokes only, as if playing drumsticks.
  • LP One Shot Studio, a unit that is played in the same fashion as the originals, yet emits delicate, crisp and mic' friendly tones that go to tape or hard drive without any worry of stridency or signal clipping. It has been thoroughly conceptualized and road tested by Daniel de los Reyes, whose standards are beyond reproach. The beauty of the new One Shot Studio is that it can be played vigorously, with the same capacity as the original for intricate patterns, but delivers more gentle and musical timbres-again devoid of extraneous after-tones.
