The Bulova Catalog of Interchangeable Parts

This book has been in watchmakers' libraries since it was originally published in the 1950's. It is still in use today by those of us repairing Bulova watches. It has nice 120 pages of useful information in it. No fluff here.
The movements that are included are all of the classic, mechanical Bulova movements such as the 6 AH, 7 AK, etc. It doesn't cover quartz or other electric models you find in the 60's & 70's.
The catalog serves several needs of the vintage watch repairer
- Interchangeability of regular watch parts – this is the core use for the book. For example, you can find what calibers use the same cannon pinion. Hold on before ordering that repair part, you may already have a movement that has the part you need.
Information on stems & staffs is particularly useful
- Information on the self-winding & chronograph watch parts
- The mainspring measurements chart – this one is very useful as this is the official specifications from Bulova and may differ from what is printed in other catalogs such as Bestfit
- Crown chart – Tells you part numbers for the crowns, has pictures of each style, measurements, what models use which crown, etc. VERY useful stuff.
- Hand information – Shows all of the different styles of Bulova hands with part numbers, measurements including hole sizes and of course interchangeability
Take a look at the pictures so you can see examples of the information you'll find in the book. Note – the preview pictures have been compressed quite a big to make them load quickly. The PDF contains higher quality images. Also, the PDF does not contain any kind of watermarking like you see in the photos on the left.
You probably already own a hard copy. You'll never pull it off the shelf again after receiving the electronic version. It's easy to pull up the PDF, do a quick search and get on with your repair.
Like all of the other PDFs I sell, these are completely searchable. This speeds up your item lookup greatly. This feature's importance is often overlooked and should be heavily used by anyone buying the text. The commercial grade OCR engine I use does a fantastic job of indexing these old catalogs.
It is unusual to find someone offering PDFs of publications that have been indexed and made searchable using specialized tools. I strive for the highest quality possible in everything I do, PDF creation included.
