As many of you know already I live directly next to Knaresborough and often spend a lot of time around the River Nidd where Mother Shipton's cave lay on the River Bank. This place is absolutley alive with Magic of all kinds. Mostly fairies although I have seen a few Asrai Faires as well as Pixies and other Forest Sprites around and about there. The force of power there is beautiful and I often go to meditate and sit talking with the fairies or to cast spells.

Mother Shipton otherwise known as Ursula Sonthiel was born in the year 1488 to Agatha who was already known for her psychic abilities.

Ursula was not well loved as she grew up mainly because of her mother and then ultimatly because of her own predictions which she began to write nearly 500 years ago. Some of the people in the village feared her and others just didnt understand her and so Ursula lived alone in a darkened cave at the side of the River Nidd and concentrated on magic and kept to herself.

At 24 she met Toby Shipton and they married fairly quickly, some say she had great power over him and made him come to her. Ursula became known as Mother Shipton and continued to write about her thoughts on the world and the events which she saw unfolding before her.
