24pc INTERNATIONAL STERLING PANTHEON PAT FLATWARE SET

Presented is a fine 24pc set of sterling silver flatware by the International Silver Company. The set is done in the Pantheon pattern which was first produced in 1920. The dinner knives have sterling silver handles and stainless steel blades. The dessert fork is monogrammed with an S, and one of the soup spoons is monogrammed with an F in Gothic script. All the other pieces are monogrammed GHB in an Art Deco style.

The set includes:

  • 4 dinner knives: 10 inches long
  • 4 dinner forks: 7 3/4 inches long
  • 2 salad forks: 6 1/8 inches long
  • 1 dessert fork: 6 3/4 inches long
  • 3 teaspoons: 6 inches long
  • 4 round soup spoons: 5 1/2 inches long
  • 5 demitasse spoons: 4 1/8 inches long
  • 1 butter spreader: 5 5/8 inches long
The knives are hallmarked Sterling Handle on the handles and Stainless Steel In Si Co on the blades. The other pieces are all hallmarked with I. S. Co and the maker’s mark for International Silver Company, Sterling, and Pat’d. Most of the pieces also have the patent date of 1920.

The dinner knives have a few problems, but the rest of the set is in excellent condition. The dinner knives have some dings on the sterling silver handles. On the ends of the handles, one knife is badly dented, one has a split, and the other two have several dings. The other pieces are in great condition with only a small amount of surface wear commensurate with light use. There are no other dents, no other splits, no breaks, and no repairs.

The total weight of the 20 sterling silver pieces is 660.8 grams or 23.2 ounces. This does NOT include the weight of the dinner knives because of the stainless steel blades.
