ATTN: VINYL COLLECTORS: I have a few thousand albums and keep adding. They are mainly rock, but there's some country, showtunes, soundtracks, classical, and just about everything else thrown in.  My turntable is inexpensive so I'm not able to attest to sound quality.  If there is an obvious scratch, I will listen to make sure there are no skips or repeats.  The album has not been listened to all the way through unless otherwise stated. Most of the records have been visually inspected under strong light. Unfortunately I can't listen to them all.

Up for your consideration is Dinah Washington I Wanna be Loved.  This album was released on Mercury (MG 20729) in 1961.  The vinyl is in VG to VG+ condition with some light scratches that appear from normal wear.  The jacket is in VG to VG+ condition.  There is tape  at the bottom where the information on the back has come loose from the cardboard. Other than that there is light ring and corner wear.

Songs included are: I Wanna Be Loved, Don't Explain, Everybody's Somebody's Fool, Invitation, You're Crying, Let's Fall in Love (Side II) When Your Lover Has Gone, A Stranger in Town, God Bless the Child, Blue Gardenia, I Can't Face the Music and Sometimes I'm Happy.

Ratings:  Mint-Absolutely perfect and usually still sealed.

NM-A nearly perfect record. The record should show no obvious signs of wear. The sleeve should have no more than the most minor defects, such as almost invisible ring wear or other signs of slight handling.  The jacket should have no creases, folds, seam splits, or any other noticeable similar defect.  No cut out holes.

VG+ The record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it.   Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience.  Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.  The label may have some ring wear or discoloration but it should be barely noticeable.  The center hole will not have been misshapen by repeated play.  Inner sleeves will have some slight ring wear, lightly turned-up corners, or a slight seam split. An LP jacket may have slight signs of wear and may be marred by a cut out hole, indentation, or corner indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount.

VG: Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise.  Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches that will affect the sound (deep enough to feel with a fingernail). Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers or their residue attached.  The same will be true of covers.

Good-Good Plus:   It will play without skipping.  But it will have significant surface noises and scratches and visible groove wear.  A jacket will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the object.
