This is a new in original box "1980:  Earnhardt the Champion" Commemorative Tankard offered through the Franklin Mint.  This tankard is an original design authorized by Dale Earnhardt and NASCAR.  It is also certified that this original collector tankard is crafted in hand-decorated, fine porcelain and features a precision-cast metal lid. It is approximately 6 inches in height and is in new condition, no chips, cracks or repairs and has never been displayed. This item comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.  On the tankard it states: 

For most young racers, few things can trump the Rookie of the Year Award, But Dale Earnhardt found the one thing that could-winning rookie honors and his first NASCAR Winston Cup Championship back to back!  Earnhardt quickly proved his sophmore season would be even more thrilling than his first.  He led in points from the second race onward and defeated some of the biggest names in racing along the way to a NASCAR racing record that stands to this day.
