Please note frame is 100% made of Reynolds steel. Until we can get final aproval and reynold decal we can not comment on the steel type used on this frame. What we can say it is not made of the lesser materials like 4130.

2009 HAND MADE TRACK Frameset

Nothing like stainless steel and powder coat. 100% hand made in Taiwan. Leader booked the full production of a small factory with only three skilled workers. The youngest builder brazing the new Leader frames is 38 years old with over ten years of experience. Leader will post pictures of the manufacturing process of these frames on the Leader site sometime in the near future. We can only get eighteen frames a month and already booked the factory for a full year. Every detail in these frames and forks are flawless. They are nothing like the Chinese mass produced lugged frames on eBay or on other islands. Leader Bike is really proud to offer up these beautiful frames. We guarantee you will get what you pay for and more.

On the new Leader HMT frame we made sure to completely paint all the edges by hand of all the lugs included the stainless steel lug on the head tube and polished fork. If a replica of the new Leader frame was made by a well know steel builder we can assure you would pay at least $1600 for it frame and fork. Not only because of the material but the perfect detail and professional brazing of the tube sets. We had to special order every main tube on the frame and create our own lugs to obtain the perfect track geometry on this frame. Some companies just like to use road lugs and then bend the tubes to comply with geometry. Another feature we use is corrosion resistant primer on all the inside exposed parts like the BB shell, seat tube, and head tube. Finally we use powder coating in both the paint and clear coat. this was a very expensive process due to the stainless steel lug work. we had to make a special molt for painting to protect it from the temperature during the powder coat.

We know the approach Leader is taking with the new frames is way above from what we’ve done recently. Leader Bicycle in Taiwan actually started making steel frames in the eighties. We even designed and made a carbon steel frames 12 years ago but at the time everyone just wanted cheap aluminum and carbon and we are a business. Now we want to go back to our roots. Leader bicycle has been around in Taiwan since 1982 and in the US since 1999.

I need someone to build and maintain my bike.
All local bike shops are familiar with all elements and particulars of our products, so that there should be no conflict regarding standard maintenance or repair after prolonged use.
