Product Review Exclusive LED wash release.. FINALLY HERE. The Irradiant Mini Moves are finally here! We showed them at MBLV and they arrived today! I personally took several out of the box and played with them (16).. I do this with all new lights to get a feel for them and to be able to answer questions from you that may arise. The bonuses of this light are SIZE, WEIGHT, PRICE and OUTPUT. I have seen nothing like this on the market, so this is not a “me too product”. The closest thing I can compare these to is the Chauvet Min spot. This unit is smaller, and brighter and about one third the price of the Chauvet Min spot. It has 86 bright LEDs on a small head. I have hooked these up sound to light, master slave, and DMX… all work well. I will be showing videos throughout the week as they are made. This is a nice entry level moving wash that will have many uses. Like the Archispot, the Mini Move is not for everyone. Price point has taken out features that a 400 dollar fixture will have…you have to keep one thing in mind when making this a purchasing decision.. PRICE… The Mini Move does not have digital read outs..it does not have sensors with error messages… just a simple moving head wash that is bright. It has a manual stop point that goes to home when you reset the power.. so if the units go out of sync, we just reset the power. I have been running 4 heads for 3 hours set on master/slave auto and I have yet to reset power.. for me, this has not been an issue. They react smoothly to DMX control. I set the 8 on master slave sound to light and played "Pump Up The Volume" .. the lights looked awesome.. but they did go out of sync because they were moving so fast… They couldn’t keep up with each other.. in my opinion… it looked cooler that way, because the colors were all the same…. the heads were slightly off. When the music stopped, or slowed down they all “caught up” and were in sync again. A real winner in my opinion. As far as downfalls, based again on the price.. these need to be handled with a bit of care.. They can not be “grabbed by the arm” or thrown around. They are packed nicely, and can be transported with original packing fairly easily. As I unpacked the 16, we did need to adjust a few units by hand. Secondly, they have a loud fan in them. Great for cooling and truly I don’t feel a problem with music on, you really wont hear them. Would I want them turned on during the Best Man's toast? No.. but that is the reason for having a power switch. Esthetically they have an interesting look to them..

I recommend using these in pairs or fours… I have 8 set up in a link.. man they look cool..(as I was writing this, a customer came in and bought 8) This may be a limited quantity item, limited to what we have ordered as I try to find other neat things to show you. As other products we have sold like this, don’t wait we will move through the stock quickly. | DJ Biff, 7/8/2009 |
