The largest group of Brett Weston photographs ever offered on eBay or at any auction house in the last 20 years.

Started in 1974 and finished in 1975, Brett Weston completed one of his most ambitious photographic projects of his career, a 100 photograph portfolio. Known among collectors as the museum set, Brett and Brett alone picked what he felt were some of his most important images of (at that time), the past forty years (1934-1974) of his photography. He competed the edition of 10 sets of what was titled the "100 Print Collection". The information that I have obtained, it appears that by 1979, 6 complete sets made their way to private collectors and museums. The remaining 4 were not sold and Brett broke those up and sold the photographs individually over time up until his death in 1993. From what I know, no complete set has been sold over the last 25+ years, until now.

Recently I brokered a deal from one of the original purchasers of the museum set, 100 print collection. The new owner has decided after he selected some of the photographs for his personal collection, to offer the remaining 91 images for you to enjoy viewing here on eBay and possibly to own. Many might feel that a set of this importance should have stayed intact, and I believe 4 still are. The new owner as I do, feel that Brett would like as many people who could have one of his photographs to be able to do so. With that said, we feel that breaking this set up is the right thing to do.

The price listed above is what I feel would be the approximate retail price in galleries that specialize with Brett's work today. I know for a fact some of the images listed today have sold for well over $10,000.00 at auction or in private sales.

The current owner of this image has set his minimum of what he will accept for it below what I have sold or seen similar images sell for in recent years. Do not hold back in making an offer, all reasonable offers will be considered. Make an offer now, the photo or photos that you may want, just might be bought up quickly by someone else and the chance of finding another of this quality, will be slim to none.

Not that I need to be a "barker" for Brett's work. But I will say the photographs in this collection were some of the finest of each image that I have ever seen. As I view them, I can see that Brett went over the top to make each photo the best that he could. The blacks are as black as the paper would allow, the tones, detail and printing are all incredible. Many of them have been published in one or more of Brett's books.

Important, please note that the date above is the date the photo was taken, all photos in the collection were hand made by Brett between 1974-1975. The sizes are the paper size the photo was printed on, the image size is slightly smaller. Most of, if not all the images dated pre 1965 (and a few after) were contact prints, you just can't get detail any better than a contact print! This photo is in mint condition, signed/dated with pencil under image lower right along with title or description on the back mount in Brett's hand. The 8x10 images are mounted to 13"x15" museum board, the 11"x14" images are mounted to 15"x18" museum board. I have taken one further step, and had this photo matted with 16"x20" rag board and had window cut for the photo and signature. Ready to be framed and up on your wall for years of enjoyment.
