EAPG MINERVA SUN PURPLED (to lavender) GLASS COMPOTE LID in ROMAN MEDALLION PATTERN! Splendiferous in its sun purpled to a lovely lavender color; is offered this elegant EAPG compote lid by Minerva Glass Co. in the ROMAN MEDALLION pattern, c: 1887-92 ish. The handle of the lid is a pointed roman column, reticulated, with age chips from usage commensurate with age & useage, complete with one at the tip of the point! The inside of the lip rim has two small chips and is rough from age & use but is not noticable unless picked up & turned over. The pattern is well pressed and sharp, and a delight to view. A novelty for any EAPG collection! I used my penlight-blacklight and got a moderate glow from the handle, (green) see photo #6. This lid makes a great sandwich cover, I have used it for that while I was unavoidably detained on the phone several times.....it works great!! Lid is: 7" W x 4" H and weighs 1.2 Lbs. A novel piece for for those who do not like the ordinary EAPG for thier Collections......Great for those looking for Amethyst or Sun Purpled Antique Glass for thier Collections! JACKPOT! for the person looking for a ROMAN MEDALLION COMPOTIER LID by MINERVA GLASS! |
