Description :


This is an impressive, very wearable, antique French cope.

Most of the main body of the cope is made of a patterned black silk damask (see last photo for the design - sorry it has come out grey-looking with the camera flash).

The rest of the cope is plain black silk satin.

The lining is black silk.

There is an attractive pressed gold metal fastening.

The cope is trimmed with a lovely patterned metallic gold braid, and has metallic gold embroidery on the hood and on the front orphreys.

Condition:  overall good.  Issues to note are:  a few strands are missing from the bullion fringe on the hood; there are some tears/wear in the silk lining at the top which would need to be repaired; also some slight wear to the silk at the bottom hem. 

The cope measures 57 inches from the top of the hood to the bottom hem.

This a heavy item, weighing 2.5kg unpacked, and therefore has to be sent by Parcelforce.  I have quoted rates for USA, Canada, Australasia, Japan and the UK.  Please contact me for postage for any other countries not mentioned.
