Vintage MISS ELAINE NIGHTGOWN-Caftan Style-Med/Lg!
This wonderful find is so unlike any I've seen made by "MISS ELAINE"! It is a super colorful, VINTAGE NIGHTGOWN IN CAFTAN STYLE, done in Royal Blue & White. What looks like large Panthers in tall Grass makes up the design. The design itself is bright and fabulous and is SIGNED...looks to be "MARC", although I have no idea who "Marc" is. The bustline gives way to the wide, flutter sleeves and the gown is empire waist style with an elasticized waist.
This piece is in EXCELLENT CONDITION with two teeny tiny, pin-head sized holes on the top layer of the bodice. I only found these by looking very, very closely and they will not be noticeable when worn. Someone hemmed the gown up and it would be quite easy to take this 2.5" hem down, should you desire. The shoulders were raised as well and equally as easy to take out. A stunning, vintage piece!
Measurements are quite difficult to take, due to there being no side seams, where the wide, angel style sleeves meet the bustline, but I assume, by measurements taken, that it is a SIZE MEDIUM TO LARGE.
APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS ARE:
BUST: 38" AROUND
EMPIRE WAIST: 26" AROUND UN-STRETCHED & 32" FULLY STRETCHED
HIPS: 46" AROUND
TOTAL LENGTH: 43" FROM UNDERARM TO HEMLINE BOTTOM.
