Fabulous VINTAGE RED CHIFFON ROBE-Inset LACE-Sheered Chiffon-Sweeping Hem!
This GORGEOUS VINTAGE ROBE is made of fabulous, SHEER ED CHIFFON. Much in the style of Lingerie Maker "VAN RAALTE", it features oodles of RUFFLES, INSET LACE and SHEERED CHIFFON ROWS. Two, pearlized buttons and a long sash to tie into a bow, make up the top closure. Red LACE trims out the hemline and ruffled wrists and the same treatment seen at the 11.75" hemline ruffle, with it's shirred rows of chiffon and 3 rows of inset lace, can be found at the yolk of the bodice. This is a one-of-a-kind piece and while the tag is no longer in place, a best guess would be that it was made by the "VAN RAALTE" Company.
The bust MEASURES approx. 52" around, due to the flowing style. The robe is 35" LONG and the decorative trim at the hem is 11.75" high! This is a sweeping garment, with loads of delectable sheer red CHIFFON and the hemline MEASURES over 123" AROUND!!! The photos showing the matching RED FULL LENGTH SLIP, are a testament to just how lovely this garment is, paired with a similar era's item beneath. The SLIP has been sold.
