THIS AWESOME CHESS SET COMES PACKED IN A NEW LEATHER CHESS CASE FOR SAFE AND SECURED STOREAGE.THE INNER OF THIS CHESS CASE IS SOFT VELVET FITTED WHERE EACH PIECE IS LAID FIRMLY.

This pre 1970 era Chess set made by BEEKAY'S renowned Artisan confirms that older sets were made in a figural form for use as conventional sets or wholly as decorative artifacts that can on occasion be used with care to play the game.
Made in size in solid Bone, each piece is painstakingly handmade and richly hand painted.
This is a rare chess set made by an Artisan who specialized in making Ivory Chess Sets in 1930's to 1960's.

The Sanskrit name for chess is CHATURANGA,which means the four divisions of an Indian Army chariots [represented by the rook/castle in the familiar chess set of today],cavalry{knight},elephants{bishop},and foot soldiers{pawns};added to these were a shah{king}.Afrasiab chessmen beautifully carved ivory chess pieces from the seventh to eighth centuries inspired Indian Artisan of modern times to produce an exclusive chess set which is of the highest quality and represents the quality carvings of the earlier century and represents the four divisions of Indian Army.
