This fabulous, VINTAGE/ANTIQUE, BURGUNDY SATIN DAMASK CURTAIN PANEL is the epitome of the Class & Elegance of a By-Gone Era. The pattern is a beautiful, plaid-like design, with the satin of one side, being a matte material on the back and vice-verse. Measuring 70" Long, with a 1.75" hem at each end, it is 22" Wide, with one selvage side and one side with a .75" hem. I estimate this piece to date from the early to mid 1930's and it is in EXCELLENT CONDITION with only a tear on each of the inner, hemmed sections, on the folded over piece of fabric where it was hemmed down. One is approx. 2" long and the other, approx. 5-6" long. This is a simple repair and will not be seen when the panel is hung. Also, I just found one snag, near the very bottom of the panel, but this appears to cause no real damage and could simply be cut off. I seen no "run", just a small "bump" of fabric here. The fabric has NO other issues and is absolutely STUNNING! It could, of course, use a good cleaning (I would choose Dry Cleaning ONLY on this item). Perfect antique piece for a thin window, door or to turn sideways, add a pocket, and use as a valance...or to make into pillows, a jacket, skirt....the prospects are endless!!
