The classic Christmas movie Miracle on 34th Street opens with a truly spectacular scene of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The cast and crew actually worked on Thanksgiving Day and film star Edmund Gwynn, who played Kris Kringle, was the actual parade santa that year. This 1947 printing of the Valentine Davies story is a non marked first edition that was issued at the time of the films release in July 1947 (it was never billed as a Christmas movie at the time of its release). Condition is fine--- book shows minor aging, dust jacket is faded and has some chips along the edges.
