Antique 1864 HOLY BIBLE NT Embossed TOOLED LEATHER Book

SIZE: 9 1/4" by 6", with 431 pages. No illustrations.

*****DESCRIPTION: Here is a dated 1864 THE NEW TESTATMENT OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST Translated from the original Greek; compared and revised. ****Pub by the American Bible Society, New York, 1864.

Both Front and Back Covers, and spine, are Embossed or tooled Leather, with the covers having a lovely Overall LEAF and VINE andSCROLL motif. ***The spine being an exception, the leather on the covers is surprisingly SOFT and SUPPLE. You'll love running your hands along the leather and the tooling. ***Comprised of the Books of the Apostles, Acts, Romans, Colossians, Etc, The LETTERS, the Epistle of James, Jude and the Book of Revelations. There are others, I just didn't list them all.

SIZE: Not one the large Coffee Table Sized Bibles, this is a smaller, manageable NEW TESTAMENT, 9 1/4" by 6".

CONDITION: GOOD to Good + for such an old Bible, BUT it is NOT perfect, and shows some age. Bible is Mostly WELL BOUND inside, but does have that separation as shown, but the SPINE EDGE LEATHER shows much wear, stress cracking, and some missing areas. See pix. It is cracked/separated along the cover junctures, but is all still attached to the inside, so it seems firmly bound as one. BOARD shows along edges, and corners where the leather is worn. See pix. INSIDE, is very AGE SPOTTED. There is also an old book smell. If this will bother you, please do not bid.

For an 1864 Bible, it is in good to very good cond, and will make a great addition to your Christian Library. NO RESERVE!!!!
