In 1994 Neil Bonnett was attempting a comeback to his NASCAR career after being sidelined since 1990 when he suffered head injuries in a crash at Darlington. On Feb. 11, his #51 Country Time sponsored Lumina hit the wall head-on in turn 4 while practicing for the Daytona 500. Sadly, Neil was killed in this car before his comeback even started. This 1/64 scale diecast metal collectible was produced in 1994 by Racing Champions for the Legends of Racing Series offered as promotional cars through Country Time Lemonade. It is one of a series of six cars they offered. It is the old style Chevy Lumina and the year 1991 and Racing Champions are cast into the metal bottom of the car. It was made to be offered only through Country Time's mail in offer that required UPC codes from their drink mixes. The car is Neil Bonnett's #51 Country Time sponsored Chevy Lumina and is painted yellow and pink. This car is already 10 years old and was produced at the dawn of the racing diecast business. It is listed in Diecast Digest under the Racing Champions promotional 1/64 cars and valued at $63. The windows are black with no interior as they all were back then. The car and box you are bidding on are in new unopened condition. Winning bidder to pay $4 for first class mail shipping and any additional 1/64 scale cars won and shipped with the first car will ship for only $.50 each so check my other auctions and see if there's any other cars you may want. Thanks for looking. |
