Birds of the USSR - Gulls (Ptitsy SSSR - Chaykovye)

1988  372 pp illustrated

This book, written in Russian, looks at the biology and habits of the gull family of birds, offering a number of interesting tidbits to the layman (who knew gulls could live over 40 years?) but is specifically written for those with scientific interests in birds and aquatic birds.  Two families are looked at in depth:  Stercorariidae and Laridae, with standard look at habitats, migration, nesting, mating, distribution, population, diet, etc.  Excellent book!

The book is in very good condition.  The single flaw is the dust jacket - there are slight tears and blemishes along the edges; the front right corner of the actual cover is dented.  The rest of the insides of the book are perfect.

As with all my books, this book come from a smoke-free home.
