DESCRIPTION

The Samurai and the Orchid have always been closely interwined. In today's world it seems hard to believe that flower cultivation and arrangment were an essential part of the Smaurai's training. At one point in Japan's history it was forbidden for anyone not of the Samurai class to own an Orchid. One of the reasons that the Samurai have always been closely asscotiated with this flower is the similarity between the Orchids life and that of the Samurai. Both the warrior and flower live very short but beautiful lives (if you consider dying by Seppuku beautiful).

This is the Orchid Samurai Katana.

Attributes of the Weapon:

Blade: The blade of the sword is 440 Stainless Steel with an aesthetic hamon down the edge of the blade. A kanji has been engraved into the blade that reads "Heaven favors the warrior." The blade comes slightly sharpened.

Scabbard: The scabbard of the sword is wooden with a black lacquer finish. The end cap of the sword is a golden Orchid. A black cord sage-o has been tied around the wooden Kurigata of the scabbard. The scabbard throat is steel with another golden Orchid.

Guard: The Habaki of the sword is golden steel. The guard is blackened steel with a golden Orchid on each side.

Handle: The handle of the sword is constructed from wood with an imitation ray skin Same and a black cord Ito. The Menukis of the sword are golden dragons. The handle is a long handle style to maximize power.
