In the 1960s and 1970s, it just wasn't Christmas without the legendary King Family.  Catapulting to fame as one of the most popular television, recording and concert acts of the era, the Kings hosted two network series and 17 holiday TV specials.  In celebration of the 45th anniversary of their ABC debut, join the King Family on DVD for the first time ever as they take a heartwarming look back at their classic specials in this all-new holiday TV event being broadcast on PBS in December 2009.

In clips unseen for decades - now digitally remastered - the Kings perform a cavalcade of classic showstoppers while sharing personal, behind-the-scenes memories in contemporary interviews.  Featuring Grammy-nominated big band era greats The King Sisters, guitar virtuoso Alvino Rey, film favorite Robert Clarke, the King Cousins featuring '60s sweetheart Tina Cole (of My Three Sons fame), the King Kiddies and all the aunts, uncles brothers and sisters that mke up "America's first family of song."  Including heartwarming performances of such beloved classics as I'll Be Home For Christmas, White Christmas, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, My Favorite Things, Caroling Caroling, The Christmas Waltz, The First Noel and a swinging bossa-nova medley of Twas The Night Before Christmas.  As a bonus, the 1967 Christmas show is included in its entirety, featuring a surprise reunion between King Sister Alyce and her son, home from US Army service.  2009.  Color and Black & White.  Approx. 2 hrs.
