Land is music composed with Native, earth instruments--clay flutes, wooden totem flutes, rattles, drums and Native influenced vocables. Though it sounds to the new ear like a ancient composition, land is a modern composition, It is Composed in two styles. First, the Euro-American composition style--preludes, overture,movements, bridges, reprise. Those who are familiar with classical composing will see and hear these intentions clearly. The second style is "learned"-- learned by living in a metaphorical, tribal, committed life. A life I still live--drum dynamics, Native vocal passages, animal studies, etc. Those who are familiar with tribal rythems and vocables will also hear this clearly. It is truly a collaboration. Much, much more than just visual but internally as well as spiritually a fusion of sound. Much, much more than style and "New Age" Much. much more than ancient. It Is Land It Is Native Beat. It Is Ancient Fused With Future.
