This auction is for an antique (c.1910), very fine and rare gilded & enameled Continental silver souvenir spoon of BREMEN found in a local collection.  Spoon is crafted from medium / heavy gauge, gilded Continental (800/1000) silver and measures 5 1/4" long x 1" wide (widest part of oval shaped bowl). Spoon sports a lovely, hand-painted enameled bowl (with a very realistic and detailed image of the Rathaus & St. Peter's Cathedral). Handle shows also an enameled design of a silver key on a red background. Back of handle is marked with the silver standard 800 + maker's mark I haven't been able to identify and German hallmarks. Condition of spoon is extremely good / close to pristine; sports no areas of unsightly damage or repairs. Just light surface scratches, tarnish and loss of gilding commensurate with age and gentle use. A wonderful and unique addition to your collection of fine and rare European souvenir spoons w/ enameled portraits / scenes is being offered for a low opening bid and no reserve. Please referr to photos below and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have on this or any of my other listings.
