Vintage Japan Tan Luster 21 Piece Mickey Mouse Child's Tea Set 

Origin: Japan

Item: 21 Piece Child's Set (6 cups and saucers, 6 dinner plates, creamer/ sugar and lid, teapot and lid)

Pattern: Mickey Mouse

Circa: 1930s

We are thrilled to be able to offer for sale a adorable Mickey Mouse Child's Set. For the most part this set is in  Undamaged Condition without chips, cracks, or mold damage. There are two pieces that are less than perfect, a saucer and a dinner plate.  They both have rim chips on the edges -- not large but they are there. After all this set is old and was played with. The other notable mention is that this little set was crudely made. The plates and saucers are rough on their raised bottoms.  They are not chipped, it is just the way the set was made.  The luster is not even. Even the little figures were applied haphazardly.  These little dish sets were mass produced as souvenir items (For Walt Disney). Part of the beauty and the nostalgic feeling that you get from these early 1930s Japanese children's sets are the way they were made. So please be aware that at this point in history many Japanese children's sets were not made perfectly. Many of the pieces are marked "Made in Japan" in red lettering on the bottom. The teapot is marked "MICKEY MOUSE COPR. BY WALT E. DISNEY MADE IN JAPAN" on its base.
