Set of 4 different matched Victorian lithographed cards, each measuring 3 x 4.75". They are undated and no printer is cited, but they almost certainly date from the 1880's. They were once glued in an album. The theme is romance. Three of these charming cards show couples, and one shows a young woman looking through a spyglass. They depict scenes in the four seasons, and together they tell a bit of a love story. The costumes are ornate and done antiquarian style, even for the 1880's. There is no advertising on these cards, though they are of the type could have been printed or stamped on the fronts or backs with advertisement.
CONDITION: Fronts are Very Good - little soiling or wear to three cards; the summer card has soiling and a small tear in the margin at upper left. The backs have residue from being glued in an album - not affecting the fronts. We use accepted bookseller grading standards: Fine, Near Fine, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor. We grade items conservatively. SHIPPING: For International shipping outside the USA, please contact us for a quote. SKU10252EW Please see our eBay store.
