WWI-era sheet music - key of G - OH, MOON OF THE SUMMER NIGHT - (TELL MY MOTHER HER BOY'S ALL RIGHT). Words and music by Allan J. Flynn. 2 leaves, 4 pp. Measures 9.25 x 12". NY: Al Piantodosi & Co., Inc, 1918.

Song best known by the hookline, not the actual title. Touching song about a soldier overseas who implores the moon above to tell his loved ones back home that he is safe - at least for this one night. Cover art in beige and brown signed "Starmer" showing a soldier in a trench gazing up at a vision of a woman depicted as a photo inset.

CONDITION: Fair. A little edgewear and soiling. Old tape repair to extreme left edge. Ink stamp of original music vendor (Piqua OH) in middle. Old tape repair (on back of cover) to 1.5" closed tear at bottom left. Still quite presentable.
