Measures approx 11.5 x 14.25" - image measures approximately 9 x 12" (plenty of margin for framing); midweight stock, biscuit (ecru) background. The back is blank. This is NOT a reproduction - it is an antique print over 125 years old.

The splendid birds are show in their natural habitats. At the time of publication, the Kite (Naucterus furcatus) was common in the South Atlantic and Gulf States, the Marsh Hawk (Marsh Harrier or American Harrier - Cicus cyaneus, var. hundonius) was common was common almost everywhere in the US (except the southeastern coast) and down into Costa Rica. The Red-tailed Black Hawk (Western Red-tail or Black Red-tail or Hen Hawk, or Red-tailed Buzzard - Buteo borealis, var. Calurus) was found throughout the US, and the Swainson's Hawk (Swainson's Buzzard - Buteo swainsonii was abundant in Northern Dakota.

CONDITION: Very Good Plus or better. Minor yellowing to margins, residue of tissue guard along disbound edge. The image area is Near Fine or better - will frame up beautifully.
