Yellow, black and white dust jacket is fair condition, lots of jacket edgewear includes short tears, small pieces gone, creasing. Jacket has much age/exposure brown spots on inside and outside. Spine of jacket faded and has 2" vertical, closed tear on spine. Library number/tag taped at lower spine of jacket. Back of jacket has list of Board of Trustees as of the Twenty-fifth Anniversary Year. There is no indication on jacket of book being club edition but it appears it is as front leaf edge is quite uneven and page stock is a bit pulpy.

Covers are deep red with unworn gilt title and author name on front; spine title also good and in gilt. Small darker area at lower spine from removal of taped-on library tag. Light edgewear consists of light shelf wear on bottom edges, points of tips with tiny wear, top of spine browned/faded in narrow line and back cover has 3" long fade narrow fade spot on inside of top edge. Top leaf edge quite speckled with brown spots. Library envelope inside front cover with small library name stamped and number in ink on first blank page. Inside both covers and first and last blank pages show some age spots.

Book consists of 261 pages which are light ivory, clean, and tight at binding.

Book is in 3 parts: The Idea, The Growth, and, The Reality and Future of the Idea; each part is broken into chapters.
