Like the previous MINOX binoculars designed for outdoor activities (BD 8 x 32 BR, BD 10 x 42 BR, BD 10 x 52 BR, BD 8,5 x 42 BR asph), the MINOX BD 10 x 52 BR asph. also has a rubber-reinforced aluminium body. The high-grade material guarantees high stability and secure functioning of the internal optical and precision mechanical systems. At the same time, it allows a noticeable lightness when using the binoculars - whether it is on holiday, hiking, mountain climbing, sailing, watching a sporting event or viewing animals and plants in the wild. Resistant to dust and water, a argon gas filling prevents fogging of the prisms and lenses from inside.
Thanks to the world-renowned, light reflection minimising M* coating on the lenses and the phase-corrected prisms, the BD 10 x 52 BR asph. distinguishs itself by its high transmission of light and by the brillliance and colour accuracy of its image reproduction, right down to the smallest detail. With 4 lenses in 3 groups, the eyepieces, designed for wearers of spectacles and intended to give the greatest possible use to the owners of MINOX binoculars, offer an extremely large field of vision. Combined with the continuously movable eyepiece cups, they are immediately usable, even by wearers of spectacles.
The BD 10 x 52 BR represents a class of its own: with its twilight output of 22.8, it demonstrates optical strength where the recognition of contours and details in conditions of poor light is important. This is a top value which cannot be bettered in its weight class. In addition it is extremely good at close range, where the smallest of creatures and plants are close enough to touch and clearly recognisable.
