I am pleased to offer for sale this wonderful Victorian walnut rope twist marble top side table crica 1860's. This is a unique marble top side table having the rope twists legs, and rope twists cross stretchers joining together in the center with an octagon shaped joiner that has incised carvings. The apron of the table is scalloped, and is wonderfully finger rolled with beautiful carving. There are also the original brass feet cups that are attached to the original casters for easy movement. This table measures 30 3/4 inches wide, 21" deep and 29 1/4 inches high. The bonus of this gorgeous table is if you lift up the marble and flip it over it will reveal the original manufacturers mark of: "McCann Bros, Brockton, Mass" also on the underside of the marble is a hand written inscription that reads: " Cary Allen presented to father and mother FA + KG Allen, 25 years married , Oct 16, 1863". So in 1863 Cary Allen gave this table to his parents for their 25th wedding anniversary! WOW! such history!!! This makes this even more special!
