Synopsis
At 15, Wendy's eyesight is so bad that without her glasses, everything is pretty much a big blur. Which means she's stuck looking totally stupid in her hideous frames--no contacts allowed for three more years!--and feels like a moron. Her perceptions of herself and others changes dramatically after she finds a pair of discarded sunglasses that not only seem to be her exact prescription but that--when she puts them on--show people as they truly are. (Some classmates are actual witches and elves.) An opening to another world seems to be right across the street from her house, and suddenly, her nearsightedness all but forgotten, Wendy is sucked into a crazy chase involving time travel, her grandmother, and a cute elf named Julian.
