JULIAN ELTINGE (also know as William Dalton). Rare Vintage Original Sepia Photograph Signed ("Julian Eltinge") in the negative, in facsimile, on a full length sexy shot wearing a stylish gown and a large fan shaped net hat looking like 'Lady Liberty'.

Photograph is by White, N.Y. with their logo on the lower right corner and is on heavy stock; 5" x 8"; very good (crease at top greatly exaggerated by the scanner; minor signs of handling); circa 1910-1915.

in the negative, in facsimile:

Julian Eltinge (1881-1941), born William Dalton, May 14, 1881, Newtonville, Massachusetts; died March 7, 1941, New York City; American vaudeville, stage and screen actor; One of the greatest drag performers in the history of the American Theatre. First performed in drag at the age of 10 in an annual revue of the Boston Cadets. Subsequently appeared on Broadway in 1904 in a drag role in "Mr. Wix of Wickham." Performed in the legitimate theatre and also in a number of films. "Crinoline Girl" 1914; "Cousin Lucy" 1914; "How Molly Malone Made Good" 1915; "The Isle of Love" 1916; "Her Grace, the Vampire" 1917; "All-Star Production of Patriotic Episodes for the Second Liberty Loan" 1917; "The Countess Charming" 1917; "The Clever Mrs. Carfax" 1917; "War Relief" 1918; "Princess Martini" 1918; "The Window's Might" 1918; "An Adventuress" 1920; "Madame Behave" 1925; "The Fascinating Widow" 1925; "The Voice of Hollywood No. 3" 1929; "Maid to Order" 1931; "If I Had My Way" 1940.
