Pickin' and grinnnin', singin' and spinnin' tall tales and corny jokes, the citizens of Kornfield Kounty landed on television in 1969 with the arrival of Hee Haw as a summer replacement series for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. Each week co-hosts Buck Owens and Roy Clark and the cast of comedians and musicians would welcome the biggest stars in country music to perform their songs and help deliver the one-liners. Conceived as a rural alternative to Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, Hee Haw ranked in the top 20 nationwide when CBS dropped the show in 1971 in an attempt to "de-countrify" the network's programming. It was quickly picked up in syndication and became the longest-running weekly original syndicated program in television history. The last new episode aired in 1992. Looks like the non-network executives had the last hee-haw.

You’ll howl when Junior Samples tackles Shakespeare and tried to pronounce “trigonometry.” This special edition DVD also contains exclusive 2006 interviews with cast members Roy Clark, Lulu Roman, Roni Stoneman, the Hagers and George Lindsey along with writer George Yanok and harmonica legend Charlie McCoy. Best of all, this special edition program runs 80 minutes in length.
