The Bank of Sierra Leone, itself a country with more than its share of problems, has added its own voice to the plea. This legal tender coin bears a design showing mother and child standing amidst a fertile crop beside an outline of the map of Africa with the wording "Let My People Grow".

 

 

Each coin carries the Coat of Arms of Sierra Leone on the obverse and is superbly crafted of Cupro Nickel.  This coin is 38.60 mm in diameter and weighs 28.28 gms.
