In bringing his distinct vision to the Western genre, writer-director Jim Jarmusch has created a quasi-mystical avant-garde drama that remains a deeply spiritual viewing experience. After losing his parents and fiancée, a Cleveland accountant named William Blake (a remarkable Johnny Depp) spends all his money and takes a train to the frontier town of Machine in order to work at a factory. Upon arriving in Machine, he is denied his expected job and finds himself a fugitive after murdering a man in self-defense. Wounded and helpless, Blake is befriended by Nobody (Gary Farmer), a wandering Native American who considers him to be a ghostly manifestation of the famous poet. Nobody aids Blake in his flight from three bumbling bounty hunters, preparing him for his final journey--a return to the world of the spirits.

Jarmusch once again employs the beautifully contrasted black-and-white photography of Robby Müller, which sets a poetic, dreamy mood. He also fades in and out of scenes in order to better reflect Blake's dazed, weak mental state. Adding an even greater depth to the film is Neil Young's haunting score, which completes the overall effect. DEAD MAN stands firmly as a timeless work of art whose impact only increases upon subsequent viewings.

Independent filmmaker Jim Jarmusch reaches a new plateau in his career with this poetic anti-Western. DEAD MAN follows William Blake (no, not the famous poet), an innocent young man who travels out west in order to find employment but ends up a wounded fugitive on the run from ruthless bounty hunters. Partnered with a spiritual Native American named Nobody, Blake begins to morph into the outlaw that he is mistakenly considered to be. Jarmusch's profound drama features a wonderful performance by Johnny Depp, as well as a moving score by Neil Young.

A.  Yes, all of our DVDs are brand new, still sealed, never opened, and never played. These are not copied, burned or Asian DVDs. They are new U.S. release.

Q. Is this DVD region one?

A. Yes, all of our DVDs are region one. This means they are exactly the same as you would buy at any retail store in the country.  Region one means that they are manufactured to play on DVD players in the United States and Canada.

Q. Do you ship to any other country?

A. Yes, Canada and if noted in the auction worldwide.

Q. Can I pick up if I live locally?

A. We do not offer local pick up option.

Q. Is it full screen or wide screen?

A. This question is answered in the listing for the item, under "display format", or sometimes under "item description". If there is nothing specified in the listing, this means that it does not specify on the product, and therefore, we will not know.

Q. Have you shipped my item yet?

A. If it has been more than 3 days since payment has cleared, it has shipped.  We often ship same or next day. If your tracking says “does not indicate receipt”, this does not mean that your package has not shipped. USPS will only show when your package is scanned at post offices in route, and when delivered. Bear in mind that if you paid via pending e-check, your shipment will take additional time, sometimes a week or more, as we do not ship until the e-check has cleared

Q. How long is shipping?

A. As stated in our listings, priority shipping is within 2 to 7 business days. Standard shipping is 10-21 business days. If you receive an email from Ebay stating your item has shipped it does not mean it has shipped. It only means we have transferred the item to our shipping and ordering system. It will ship within 1-2 business days from this point. USPS quotes shipping time on media mail is 10 to 21 business days. This does not include weekends or holidays, and is just an ESTIMATE.  Please realize that we do not control USPS shipping time. Please do not email us unless it has been 3 weeks since payment cleared, and your package shipped via media mail hasn't arrived.  We will then be happy to cross reference the Ebay order # and provide the tracking #.

Q. Will you take less for this item?

A. Yes, on most single “eligible” items (usually does not include multi sets).  Additional auctions purchased ship for $2.00. Q. Can I return?

A. We do not offer money back returns.  If there is a problem, such as a defective item, we will have you ship the item back to us, and we'll happily send a new one.  This seldom happens, but the merchandise is sealed, so we would not be aware if there is a problem inside the package.  If there is any problem, just let us know. We will deal with issues on an individual basis.  Please do not leave negative feedback before giving us a chance to correct a situation. We want every buyer to be happy with their purchase.

Q. Can you please send feedback?

A. We leave feedback as soon as you have received your merchandise, the transaction is complete, and we have received positive feedback.

Q. Our tracking number shows the item was delivered, but we have not received it.

A. We cannot be responsible for a shipment if USPS has marked it "delivered".  Insurance is strongly recommended.  This way, you can file a claim with the postal service. We do not file claims for you, but we will provide any additional information needed by USPS.
