The item up for auction is a reproduction Norman Rockwell illustration for 'The Saturday Evening Post' May 29, 1943,  'ROSIE THE RIVETER'.  It is an established fact that Norman Rockwell is the best known, best loved artist and illustrator in our country's history.  For over 60 years America has been wholeheartedly responding to his magazine covers, posters, and story illustrations.  The Rosie illustration is his tribute to the millions of American women who toiled long and hard at tremendously difficult jobs in order to make a contribution to the war effort.  The illustration measures 8 1/2" X 11" and is excellent for framing.
