About This Piece:

I painted this face onto acrylic covered 140lb acid-free watercolor paper. I added decorative paper for her dress. The title is from a vintage song book. I added the bird holding the music to illustrate that for this young woman birds and music are like heaven.

Original one of a kind collage, not a print or copy. Signed and dated on front, signed, dated and titled on back.

About the Artist:

I have been painting canvasses and creating mixed-media figurative sculptures for many years now. My work is in collections across North America, Europe and Australia. I am also represented by local galleries and sell at art fairs as well as through gift shops.

My art education has been mostly through self-expression and experimentation, although I have taken courses at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, personal instruction in drawing, painting and clay, and a number of workshops on botanical illustration. I also give workshops myself on creating spirit dolls.
