Item Description:
This is a large and handsome inlaid mahogany English armoire. Its cornice on top has attractive inlay banding and though one of its corners is slightly chipped it can easily be touched up at home if necessary. This armoire has a spacious closet with hooks inside and a large convenient beveled mirror on the outside. Its door and drawer feature a gorgeous inlay banding design around their borders with two gorgeous floral inlaid decorations on the sides. Though the hardware to hold the door open is not working properly its door opens and closes well and it has an oval brass handle that turns to open and keep the door shut. On the bottom it has two drawers that operate smoothly and are well constructed with dovetail joinery. Though the sides of this armoire have some slight wood separation and its bottom corners show some age appropriate wear, overall it is in good cosmetic and structural condition considering its age, circa 1899! This piece of furniture will be welcome in any room you choose to use it in and will surely be cherished for generations to come.

What is patina? If an object is described as having a fine patina it's usually meant as a compliment. If something is said to lack patina, it usually means the object lacks character. Patina is everything that happens to an object over the course of time. The nick in the leg of a table, a scratch on a table top, the loss of moisture in the paint, the crackling of a finish or a glaze in ceramics, the gentle wear patterns on the edge of a plate. All these things add up to create a softer look, subtle color changes, a unique character that has value. Patina is built from all the effects, natural and man-made, that create a true antique.
Sold in As-Is Condition: Please keep in mind that this piece is an antique or later period piece and is sold in 'as-is' condition. Buyers of antiques know that the character of old furniture is often exhibited in the unique way it shows its age. We try to fully describe each piece in an attempt to let you know exactly what you will be receiving. To further clarify each item, we include detailed and close-up photos that frequently exaggerate wear and tear in a way that is not representative of how the item will appear under typical casual observation in your home or office. Close-up photos often cause the finish color to appear lighter or surface imperfections to appear larger or more severe than when the item is viewed directly. The primary image is most often the best representation of color and overall appearance. We carefully select each item for quality and value with our customer in mind. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to email us. Any minor or major wear that has been mentioned has already been taken
into account and factored into the price. Buy with confidence at our extremely low starting price.

We appreciate the opportunity to serve our valued customers and want them to know that customer service is our top priority here at MBW Furniture. In order to deliver fragile furniture and antiques to our customers in excellent condition and without damage, we have implemented strict quality control measures and have utilized only the best methods in packing and crating to ensure safe arrival of your order to your destination.
MBW Quality control and Packing:
It is important for our customers to realize that most items we sell are extremely fragile and require extra care in packing and handling, especially antiques, bars and handcrafted furniture. Such items require boxes and wooden crates to be custom made only by packers with years of packing and crating experience. Such custom crates also need added protection and padding on the inside with top quality packing materials. Simply put, we do not and will not compromise the quality of our packing and for this reason; our shipping and handling costs might be slightly higher than sellers selling similar items. We feel it is important for our customers to realize that professional packing is not cheap and we do not want to take any chances with your hard earned money.
We appreciate the opportunity and welcome any feedback you can give that will help us improve your buying experience with us.
